![]() ![]() What I need to know is if and how I can install windows to my new m.2 drive and have it boot properly with no problems. I think at this point its an issue with the hardware compatibility. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu At that point, I was lost and didnt know what to do. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. I rebooted the windows installation media and this time it says, Windows cannot be installed to this disk. I went back into disk management and changed the m.2 to MBR. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style. I went through to install windows on the m.2, but when I selected the drive, it said it could not be installed because Windows cannot be installed to this disk. Once that was done, I shut down my pc and booted the windows installation media from USB. The only way I could get it to appear was to use the windows storage space and make a storage pool to put it in. However, the m.2 did not show up in the disk management. After, I went into windows on my old hard drive and went to disk management, that way I could format the drive. It didnt show up in the boot order, but did show up as being in the m.2 slot. I recently bought an m.2 drive to speed up my operating system. ![]()
